Located in the Chattahoochee National Forest North of Dahlonega, Georgia Camp Wahsega 4-H Camp dates back to Civilian Conservation Corp when the original cabins were used by workers building roads and bridges in the region. Today the Camp is operated by The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service providing outdoor and environmental education opportunities along with camping experiences for Georgia’s youth. The Cabin expansion marks Menefee + Winer Architects fifth project at the camp. Cabin Addition colors were inspired by the myriad of colors extracted from Pine Bark to provide physical evidence of a different period and maintain the original cabin purity.
